Every family has a place where its story begins.
For us, Jalandhar holds that special place. This land has been with our family for many years, and we now wish to give it a new life.
Guru Da Bagicha is our small effort to turn this land into a peaceful orchard where trees, flowers, herbs, and vegetables can grow naturally.
It will be a place where children can learn from nature, where fresh produce can be shared, and
where people can pause, breathe, and feel connected again.

What Will Grow Here
Guru Da Bagicha will grow slowly and naturally, just like the values behind it. Every tree, flower and plant will have a purpose.

A Small Green Space. A Meaningful Beginning.
In today’s world, cities are growing fast, but green spaces are slowly disappearing. Children are surrounded by screens more than soil. Many people live close to nature, yet rarely experience it.
Guru Da Bagicha is our small answer to that.
We may not be able to change the whole world, but we can care for one piece of land. We can plant one tree. We can create one peaceful corner. We can share one basket of fruit. We can give one child a memory of
nature.
Sometimes, meaningful change begins quietly.
From Family Land to Living Orchard
This website will follow the complete journey of Guru Da Bagicha – from the first stage of clearing the land to preparing the soil, planting the trees and watching the orchard come alive.
Every step will be documented with photos, updates and progress notes, so that this journey remains preserved for the family, the community and future generations.
Our First Project in Jalandhar
The first Guru Da Bagicha project is being developed in Guru Nagar, Model Town, Jalandhar, Punjab.
This is not just a location for us. It is part of our family’s journey. The land has been with the family for nearly five decades, and we now wish to give it a new purpose.
Over the coming months, the site will be transformed into a peaceful urban mini orchard – a place of greenery, giving, learning and grace.
A Family-Funded Initiative
Guru Da Bagicha is being developed under the values of the Chhokar Foundation, a registered charity based in the United Kingdom.
The Foundation was created with a simple family belief: when we are blessed, we must find ways to share those blessings with others.
We do not solicit or accept public donations. This initiative is funded by family members from their own resources.
Our intention is simple – to create something peaceful, useful and lasting for the community.
Join Us on This Journey
Guru Da Bagicha is still at the beginning of its journey. As the orchard develops, we will share updates, photographs and progress from the site.
We welcome interest from local residents, schools, community groups, organisations and well-wishers who would like to stay connected with the project.
This is not a donation appeal. It is an invitation to witness a small act of greenery, gratitude and giving.
From Family Land to Living Orchard
Site clearing and ground preparation work is now underway at Guru Da Bagicha.
From 22 May 2026 onwards, cleaning, clearing and extraction work began at the Guru Da Bagicha site in Guru Nagar, Model Town, Jalandhar.
The land is now being prepared by removing loose material, rubble, debris and uneven surface layers. This is the first important step before soil preparation, layout planning, irrigation and planting can begin.
What may look like soil, rubble and machinery today is the beginning of a peaceful orchard tomorrow.
Every green space begins with quiet groundwork. This is where the journey of Guru Da Bagicha truly starts.
